Is Marvelous Multiples® just for women choosing Peggy V. Helmerich Women's Health Center as the hospital for delivery?
No, absolutely not. The Marvelous Multiples® program is open to all expectant parents of multiples, regardless of your choice of hospital for birth of your babies.
Should I take a regular Childbirth Education class?
The Marvelous Multiples® program is designed to take the place of regular childbirth/prenatal education classes. Most regular childbirth preparation classes are structured for prenatal care and birth of one baby with a focus on low-risk pregnancies. Marvelous Multiples® provides details about multiple pregnancy prenatal needs, labor, birth and recovery, and offers information about your care that is not covered in regular classes. The program is presented is a single Saturday seminar, as opposed to over the course of several weeks.
When should I attend this program?
The ideal time to attend is early in your second trimester, before 22 weeks of pregnancy. This allows you to learn valuable information about nutrition, weight gain, and more importantly preterm labor, before any problems may arise or bed rest is ordered. Call as soon as you learn you are expecting multiples. Women expecting triplets or more should plan to attend class before their 20th week of pregnancy. You are welcome to attend during any stage of your multiple pregnancy, however.
What is the cost of the program?
The cost of the program is $125.00 per couple, presented in a one-day seminar which includes lunch and educational materials. Call (918) 579-TWIN for enrollment and payment options.
What educational materials are provided?
You will receive a 42-page guide for multiple pregnancy, a 42-page nutrition guide, and a notebook with handouts to reinforce the information presented.
Where is the program presented?
The Marvelous Multiples® program is presented in the conference facilities of Peggy V. Helmerich Women's Health Center, 1120 S. Utica Avenue.
What should I wear and bring to class?
It's best to wear comfortable clothes, preferably with layers, as room temperatures can vary. Bring 2 pillows and a mat or blanket. These items will be used for the relaxation exercises and to ease discomfort.
Does insurance cover the cost of this course?
Perhaps, please check with your insurance benefits representative.
I have other children, can they attend?
