Healthy Weight Control

We offer a multidisciplinary approach to helping patients gain control of their weight. While there are numerous weight control programs available to the public, we take an individualized approach by offering seven private consultations, two weeks apart over a three month period. These consultations rotate between our behavioral health specialist, exercise physiologist and nutrition specialist.

An optional exercise component may be added to your program that includes membership in the Hillcrest Fitness Center and supervision of your exercise sessions by qualified fitness professionals for an additional cost.

Nutritional Counseling and Reduced Calorie Diet. Healthy weight control teaches nutrition based on standards set by the American Dietetics Association. Our registered, licensed dietitian provides you with principles of healthy, nutritionally sound foods. Benefits and instructions on reduced calorie eating are discussed.

Personalized Exercise Program. Regular activity is a vital part of any weight loss program. Our exercise physiologist helps you identify ways to become more active, thereby increasing your stamina and strength. This endurance improves your ability to burn calories which is critical to your weight loss. With exercise, you feel better and have more energy each day. In addition, our exercise physiologist helps you develop a personalized activity program designed to assist you in achieving your own personal fitness and weight loss goals.

Healthy Emotional Balance. Lifetime weight management includes learning to balance your emotions along with healthy eating and physical activity. Our behavior specialist works with you to identify and establish patterns of emotional eating. Learn how your emotions affect your body, what activity and healthy foods do for your health. Focus areas also include positive self-image, self-esteem and stress management for a lifetime.
