Nursing Student Education Support Program
General Information

The purpose of the Nursing Student Education Support Program is to assist in providing an adequate supply of Registered Nurses for Hillcrest Medical Center. Under this program, nursing students are required to make themselves available for employment at Hillcrest Medical Center, at least 400 hours per calendar year, can receive up to 5 semesters of financial assistance during their education program. Monies received for scholarship will be considered taxable income.

Amount

HMC will scholarship up to 5 semesters, amount awarded is $1500 per semester. Education support assistance for nursing students will be the amount to cover tuition, fees, and books.

Repayment

A nursing student education support participant is obligated to serve as a full-time employee at Hillcrest Medical Center for a period of 6 months for each semester the program funds were received.

Application Process

Completed scholarship application form, (3) favorable professional reference forms, (present manager, co-workers past and present). Most recent evaluation from HMC or previous employer. Proof of 2.7 GPA or above and acceptance or enrollment with an accredited program of professional nursing. Acceptance in Program

In order to be approved for the scholarship program, the applicant must submit all required information; an incomplete or late application will not be considered.

Notification

Shawna Keith-Feezor will notify the scholarship applicant, if the scholarship is awarded. If approved, student will be asked to attend a meeting for signing of contract.

Renewal

Student will be sent renewal application and verification of continuance forms of nursing program and should be returned no later than July 20th or December 15th.
